On 4 November, the 6^th Warsaw-Beijing Forum: Youth for Business (the Beijing part) co-hosted by School of Law, CUPL and University of Warsaw, opened in the multi-function hall on the 2^nd floor at the BUPT Hotel.

The opening ceremony of the forum started with the folk dance with Chinese characteristics.

Address by Professor Xue Xiaojian, who is also the Vice Dean of School of Law, CUPL

After the host-person introduced guests attending the activity, Professor Xue Xiaojian,  the Vice Dean of School of Law, CUPL, addressed the Forum. Ms. Xue stated that, since its establishment in 2014, the Beijing-Warsaw Forum has been an important platform for young people from the two countries to exchange their ideas, pool their wisdom and cooperate with each other. The topic of this year’s Forum is Technology, Law and Business, which is related to the current common concern of international community, and is of great realistic significance. 2019 is the 70^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Poland, Ms. Xue hoped that young people from the two countries can enhance their understanding about each other and retain good cooperation to success in the Forum.

Address by Associate Professor Yuan Gang of School of Law, CUPL

Next, Yuan Gang, Associate Professor of School of Law, CUPL delivered a speech. Mr. Yuan had taken a delegation to Poland to take part in the Warsaw-part Forum in 2017. In the speech, he said that young people are the hope of the future. By participating in the Forum, young people from the two countries can enhance their understandings about the history, cultures and laws of China and Poland. The Beijing-Warsaw Forum provided students with an exchange platform, and opportunities to get to know and understand new things, enlightening them to think more deeply. The similarities between the young people from the two countries can nourish friendship, and the differences can stimulate their interests to know each other. The forum is of great and deep impact for Chinese and Polish students. Some of them come from a long way from Poland to CUPL to study, and more of them get to be acquainted with each other because of the Forum.

Address by Du Qingchun, senior partner of Dentons China

Dentons China is one of the important cooperative partner of this Forum. Du Qingchun, senior partner of Dentons China also attended the opening ceremony and made a speech. Mr. Du said that, Dentons China has a powerful “CUPL gene” because the founder and a majority of managers of Dentons China are alumni of CUPL. He on behalf of Dentons China and CUPL’s alumni therein expressed warm congratulations to the Forum’s opening ceremony. Mr. Du hoped that students can “fall in love at first sight” at the Forum, and developed a steady friendship with each other.

Address by Aleksandra Jolanta Muzal, the coordinator of Warsaw Team

Aleksandra Jolanta Muzal, the coordinator of Warsaw Team, said the Forum has entered its 6^th year and the number “6” is a lucky number in China, which represents love and prosperity. The Chinese team and the Polish team have been making continuous efforts to build a diversified and multilayered exchange platform to narrow the distance between China and Poland, for which she is grateful to all members of the Forum on behalf of Warsaw Team. She said the Forum is not just about the interaction between Chinese and Polish students, but also about the future development of the relationship between China and Poland. Aleksandra Jolanta Muzal also said the experience of the three years of this Forum has a profound impact on her, of which the most important gain is the precious friendship. She believed the bridge between China and Poland has been built because Polish students have traveled 8000 kilometers, crossed three time zones, and flew 12 or 13 hours from Warsaw to Beijing. In the future, the youths of the two countries should make sustained efforts and make progress together.

Address by Cai Yao, the coordinator of Beijing Team

Cai Yao, the coordinator of Beijing Team, reviewed the experience of the Forum in Warsaw and thanked the Warsaw Team for their care and assistance. As the host of this year’s Forum, Cai Yao first appreciated all partners and Warsaw University for their strong support, and especially for the trust and help of School of Law, CUPL. And then, she expressed her most sincere welcome to the Warsaw Team, and introduced the specific itinerary of the forum, including the unique cultural experience activities, the visiting activities as well as important lectures under the topic of Technology, Law and Business. Finally, Cai Yao  expressed her heartfelt thanks to all Chinese members, because all have made every effort to prepare for this Forum no matter how busy they are.

After the address session, the host announced the Sixth Beijing-Warsaw Forum was opened.

The Chinese and Polish students are communicating

In the next few days, focusing on the topic Technology, Law and Business, the Polish and Chinese students will jointly visit The Supreme People's Procuratorate, Beijing Court for Internet , Dentons China, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, China Minsheng Bank and other institutions. They also will participate in some significant lectures, and discuss with well-known practitioners and scholars on various matters in technology, law, business and other fields. In addition, students will also take part in cultural exchange activities, such as visiting the temple of heaven and experiencing Chinese Kung Fu.

This year is the 70^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Poland. It is hoped that the Chinese and Polish students can experience the charm of the Beijing-Warsaw Forum through the diverse activities in a week, get a memorable and fulfilling journey, as well as enhance the friendship between China and Poland.
